Today as I walking in my Sons NICU room I noticed this little gift that brought be into tears 😭 my son was born at 30 weeks on July 17, 2017 and weight 2 pounds 3 oz and was born via emergency C-section due to zero fluids.
He is my second baby in the NICU. I have 3 boys in total and all my pregnancies have been high risk. I’ve had to go through progesterone injections every week, many doctors appointments, and lots of bed rest. My first son was born at 36 weeks and was 4 pounds. My second was born at 34 weeks and was 3 pounds. & now my little one that’s in the NICU was born at 30 weeks and was 2 pounds.
My babies just keep getting smaller due to my weak uterus.
As being a second mother of a baby in the NICU...one can say it’s easy especially because the NICU staff is amazing! You can tell how much they love the babies and how connected they become with our little ones ❤️ but after having to visit and leave home I can truly say it’s hard. It’s hard to come home without our little one.
Especially during this COVID pandemic. Visiting hours are only for one parent within 24 hours. So one day it’ll be my turn and the next my husbands. We enjoy seeing our little one grow and take milestones in becoming closer to coming home but it’s hard not having him with us yet.
But after seeing this gift it truly bright warmth and happiness. Your story amazed me by the wonders you do for each family! & I thank you a million for this! I brought the Minky home to rub all my love and scent to take back to my little one and help him grow ❤️ thank you so much! I’m definitely going to purchase one blanket so another preemie baby can have one of these especially loving blankets to help him/her grow 😭❤️
Leonardo has the My Safari blanket theme since his nickname will be “Leo” for short. Leo's parents and his nurses consider Leo a Lion, because he’s truly been a strong warrior.
