As a company, we have strong ties to the Maui community and are committed to doing our part to help those in need. We're matching all donations up to $50,000 to the American Red Cross to support their efforts in providing shelter, food, and other necessities.
The wildfires, which began last week, have devastated thousands of homes and businesses, claiming at least 100 lives, making it one of the deadliest fires in U.S. history. Fueled by an exceptionally dry summer and intensified by winds from a distant hurricane, the fire has ravaged the island, including the historic town of Lahaina, leaving thousands of residents and tourists in need of immediate assistance. Nearly 300 trained Red Cross disaster relief volunteers from Utah and across the country are on the ground providing the thousands of displayed residents with a place to stay, food and other needed assistance.
In response to this urgent situation, Minky Couture as extended substantial support to the American Red Cross in their efforts to provide aid and relief. “We want the people of Maui to know they are not alone in this time of need,” said Sandi Hendry, company founder and owner. “Giving back is part of the fabric of our company and we are honored to support the Red Cross’ efforts to provide relief and support.”
