At Minky Couture we have been so saddened by the crisis and suffering in Ukraine. As part of our Heart of Minky program we created an initiative to help donate blankets to Ukrainian refugees displaced from their homes during this time. Through the Utah for Ukraine Fund, which is organized by the Larry H. Miller Company and Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation, we hope to assist in providing comfort to as many families as possible. We asked you, our amazing customers, to join us in this effort. With any blanket purchase made on March 6, the Heart of Minky program pledged to donate an additional blanket to the Utah for Ukraine Fund. We feel so grateful for each of you and the support you showed! Together, we were able to send over 900 Minky Couture blankets to these amazing people.
We thought there would be a bit of lag time until we were able to get all of these blankets sent. But there is a high demand for coats and blankets at this time to help refugees to stay warm. Because of this we were able to send this donation sooner than expected. Sandi put out a call for last minute help on a Saturday to get the blankets packaged with love in time for them to be delivered to transportation the next morning. Many wonderful Minky Couture employees answered the call and we were able to package and box all 1,025 blankets in under an hour and a half. That might be a new record!
